2020 Vision - Choose The Best Sunglasses For Your Face Shape

Hello Lovely Ladies,

Let’s face it, nothing lifts your outfit (and your spirit) more than the perfect pair of sunglasses. There are timeless eye pieces that have the power to make a statement and if you choose them right, according to the shape of your face, you will look great and feel great.

The good news is that we are here to help you find your next pair of sunglasses and make sure to take your look from zero to 100 in a jiffy. And not just for the summer - you’ll certainly be wearing these timeless shades all year round.

Shape Matters

Choosing your new pair of sunglasses for everyday use isn’t exactly rocket science, but there are a few factors to consider before making an investment in your next pair. If you put the functional elements such as polarized lenses, coatings and the materials used, the most important part for every self confessed fashionista is picking a frame shape that complements your face.

What you’re aiming at here is to emphasise your best features so you avoid distortion. On the whole, the best way to do that is to don frames that slightly contrast your face shape.

Round face

If you have a round face you should avoid circles, the best fit for you are those with angular or square frames.

Soft corners, large cheeks, same size on the chin and forehead.

Round faces have youthful baby face features.

What suits you:

  • Ideal glasses for you are the square glasses with angles to contrast with the shape of your face.

  • Rectangular glasses.

  • Cat Eye

Oval & Diamond

For those lucky fashion lovers with oval faces, you are blessed in your choice as almost anything goes with the shape of your visage. The only thing to be careful about so you don’t spoil your gorgeous look is to avoid frames wider than your face. Just like oval faces, those with diamond faces suit most frame shapes. The caveat here is to keep the frames proportionate to the size of your face.  If they are wider than your cheekbones (which is the widest part of the diamond-shaped face) this will artificially exaggerate them and make them appear even wider and in turn your chin and forehead will look disproportionately smaller.

The face is longer than wide. Soft curves and equal features. The chin is narrower than the forehead. The oval shape is the ideal face shape.

What suits you:

  • Cat Eye glasses with sharp corners.

  • Large square glasses

  • Aviator glasses

Square face

Rounded corners will ensure a delightful result for those of you with a square face. As long as the frames match the width of your face, their softer lines will abate the hardness of your jaw.

You have perfect cheekbones! The sides of your face are straight, cheeks, forehead and jaw are equal. Square faces have clear angles.

What suits you:

  • Ideal glasses for you are round glasses to create contrast with the corners of your face and soften your corners.

  • Large AVIATOR glasses.

Heart face

With a heart-shaped face the chin is narrower which means that squarer frames will add interesting angles and a layer of visual excitement. Be careful not to buy any oversized or teardrop frames. You should aim at sharp contrast to contrast the fine features of your face.

Larger front, narrow jaw and small chin.

Heart-shaped faces have strong cheekbones and a tightly formed narrow chin. Square faces have clear angles.

What suits you:

  • Ideal glasses for you are the large CAT EYE type.

  • Square glasses with corners.
